Simple Stunts of Tumbling - 3 Booklets

Simple Stunts of Tumbling - 3 Booklets

This is so fun! 3 Handbooks of Simple Stunts by Newton C. Loken, Gymnastics Coach, University of Michigan. This is a set of three units in a cardboard box that was published by The Athletic Institute. The Athletic Institute was a non-profit organization which was formed in 1934 for the purpose of stimulating athletic activities. Since the end of World War II, the scope of the Institute's activities was broadened to embrace projects designed to advance the entire field of athletics and recreation in America. This was published in 1948.

There are three black and white booklets with photography and narrative describing how to execute tumbling activities. The three Units are:

- Unit 1 - Individual Tumbling

- Unit 2 - Individual Balancing

- Unit 3 - Doubles, Stunts and Mimetics

The cardboard box is pretty worn and the shape is no longer square. The top tab is missing from the box. The bottom is still in tact so it does contain the three Unit booklets well. The booklets themselves are in very good condition. The front cover of the Unit 1 has a small fold in the front left hand corner, otherwise they are in wonderful condition other than fading from aging paper. The red and yellow coloring of the box is still vibrant.
