Vintage Ironstone Pitcher Du Barry Pattern

Vintage Ironstone Pitcher Du Barry Pattern

This lovely vintage ironstone pitcher is from the Wm. Adams & Sons company, in the Du Barry. The Du Barry pattern depicted Victorian women in idyllic garden and picnic settings. The scene chosen for the pitcher is one of a woman strolling in a garden, by a lake, reading a book. This pitcher would look lovely holding vintage wood handled silverware in a china hutch, or with a small evergreen planted in it for your Christmas holiday mantel. (See last picture)

The pitcher was likely a milk pitcher and you can find other pieces on Etsy with the Du Barry pattern - plates, creamers, soup bowls, tea pots and tea cups. I think it would be fun to build a set and use it as a centerpiece on a farmhouse buffet.

The pitcher is in very good vintage condition, little or no crazing on the exterior, a bit on the inside. One very small chip on the base. Someone added small felt pads on the base, they could be removed without leaving any remnants but I will leave that to the buyer to decide!
