Luba's Ukrainian Easter Egg Decorating Kit

Luba's Ukrainian Easter Egg Decorating Kit

This is fun! I think it would be a really interesting item to add to your Easter mantel display - the bright yellow color, with teal accents, of the box just makes you think of springtime. The kit is described as Luba's Ukranian Easter Egg Decorating Kit - by Luba Perchyshyn from the Ukrainian Gift Shop Minneapolis Minnesota.

This is the complete kit from the 1970's and was intended to help you put your arts and crafts skills to work and make your own one-of-a-kind Pysanka (Ukranian Easter egg). The kit includes six dye packets (yellow, orange, bright red, light blue, light green, black); a small block of beeswax; a kistka (writing tool); full instructions and pages of many designs to choose from. One of the fun things is the type-set used on the Instruction pages. It so reminds me of the early computer days, right down to the type set and the presentation of the margins and the language of the directions.

All pieces there are still included in the box appear to have never been used. There are more slots than packets of dye; I think the wine, brick, pink and purple are missing based on the instruction sheet. I do not know of this would still work. The dye packets are sealed but may have been comprimised over time. The original sales sticker is on the back of the box, Frandor, Grand Gourmet $6.49. This was an expensive item for it's day! The box is in very good condition. The original cellophane tape seals on the sides are broken
