Antique Schrafft's Chocolates Boston Cardboard Candy Box with Outdoor Camping Lithograph

Antique Schrafft's Chocolates Boston Cardboard Candy Box with Outdoor Camping Lithograph

$35.00
Oh this is so amazing! An antique cardboard Schrafft's Chocolates rectangular box with a lithograph of a camping scene, complete with a roaring campfire, tent, 1900s clad figures and a row boat on the shoreline. Inside the box is the original paper doilies that would have been covering the chocolates. The back has the Schrafft's Chocolates Boston gold foil label and a stamp indicating, Guaranteed by W.F. Schrafft & Sons Corp., Boston Mass., under the Food and Drugs Act June 30, 1905. Serial No. 2595.

This piece is overall in amazing antique condition. The lid slips off easily. The cardboard corners are still firm and sturdy on both the top and bottom. The imagery on top is really clear and looks like originally intended. The inside and bottom have age and using spots but nothing too significant. No off odors. Perfect for storing jewelry, craft items, or to use as a unique gifting box! It also displays well and could be just the final touch you are looking for!

My reaserch indicates: Schrafft's was founded as a candy company by William F. Schrafft in Boston, in 1861. Frank Shattuck took over in 1898, expanding the company to include restaurants. By 1915, they had nine stores in Manhattan, one in Brooklyn, and one in Syracuse, NY, as well as the facility in Boston.
