Hinode Japan Vintage Ceramic Hand Painted Flowered Pitcher with Lid

Hinode Japan Vintage Ceramic Hand Painted Flowered Pitcher with Lid

$36.00
I found this piece just at the right time to add to the autumn décor! It is a off white ceramic pitcher with a spray of colorful orange, purple and yellow flowers on the front, a single orange flower on the back and the lid. Orange paint is applied to the rim of the lid and the center of the handle. It is really nice to find a pitcher with a lid, and one with such colorful accents. It is from Hinode Japan and marked as such on the bottom.

My research tells me that the Hinode brand is an off shoot of the Noritake brand, after the WWII period. I can not find a lot of details but did find that the Noritake Morimura Gumi period ended in 1946 and the factory changed name to Hinode Shokai.

This piece is in very nice vintage condition, only one slight crack along the side of the handle and overall light crazing every where, which is pretty common for pottery of this age. There is also a few spots of missing orange paint on the top button on the lid. That same orange paint has pooled at the base of the button in a few spots which is likely there since the original painting.
