Juanita Ware Swirled Mocha Brown Pitcher

Juanita Ware Swirled Mocha Brown Pitcher

$75.00
This vintage, rare, Art Deco pitcher from Juanita Ware is a true gem from the 1930s. The pitcher is made of clay and ceramic in a glossy finish and features a mocha brown and cream marble, swirled pattern. It has a distinctive squared shape with an all in one piece handle and spout. Besides the obvious beauty of the swirled and marbled pattern, this pitcher has a few things that make it stand out from the few other Juanita Ware pieces I found in my research. It has the most delicious creamy mocha interior and a full quarter of the bottom is plain creamy ceramics with no swirl. Most I saw were full swirl and the creamy bottom allows the design on top stand out even more.

My research indicates; Juanita Ware was created by Ohio potter Bert Crawford originally in Carollton, Ohio beginning in the 1930's and continuing into the 1950's with production sites in Malvern, Ohio and finally in Dalton, Ohio.

Handmade with care, this original piece of art pottery is perfect for collectors and enthusiasts alike. The pitcher is also easy to maintain as it only requires hand washing. Add a touch of vintage charm to your décor with this unique Juanita Ware pitcher.

This pitcher is in beautiful vintage condition. There is surface crazing on the creamy bottom but no chips or cracks. The swirled surface do not have crazing. The inside is very clean. There are a two dark green spots on the one corner that look like paint? but are likely were from the manufacturing process as they have glaze over them. The bottom has many usage marks, but no branding as is typical of Juanita Ware.

This is a very striking piece and I have not seen another that rivals it from Juanita Ware in my treasure hunting! The colors are perfect for the harvest season.
