These little bottles, with their original labels and screw on metal lids, tell quite the story in a diminutive package. There are two in the collection, from similar time frames and with purported medical uses.

1 - Pure Sweet Oil - This is a clear bottle with a small bit of product still in the bottom. There is a black metal screw on lid that has the original liner. The bottle is quite thick and sturdy. The front label is glued on and has off-white and blue coloring. Pure Sweet Oil Put Up Expressly for Medicinal Purposes Contents 2 Fl. Oz. Packaged by L. Perrigo Co Allegan Michigan. The bottom of the bottle is marked 4235
K 5 and has an Anchor Hocking logo from the 1940s. Bottle is in wonderful condition. The label shows age discoloration and has 27 written in ink on the front. The corners are slightly dog-eared. The black metal cap is in nice shape as well, just dirty. The inside lip has sediment built up from the contents. Could be cleaned up if desired. Dimensions: 4" tall, 2" wide, 1 1/4" deep

2 - Ess. Peppermint - This is a clear bottle with a black metal screw on lid that has the original liner. The bottle has a wonderful design on the neck and is quite thick and sturdy. The front label is glued on and is orange with black lettering. Ess. Peppermint Alcohol 85.5% Dose: Adults One Half to One Teaspoonful. Children in Proportion to Age. Torbeson Drug Co. Cor. The label shows age discoloration and the corners are slightly dog-eared. The black metal cap is in nice shape as well, just dirty. Could be cleaned up if desired. Dimensions: 3 1/2" tall, 1 1/4" wide, 3/4" deep
