Vintage Brooklyn Brownstone Street Corner Oil Painting by Manner

Vintage Brooklyn Brownstone Street Corner Oil Painting by Manner

$200.00
When I spied this piece, hanging on the wall at an Estate Sale, I was so immediately intrigued. I snapped it right up and have done some research and have not been able to discover much about the artist. I consulted with my Art Appraiser and this is their feedback - "I have not had any luck finding the full artist's name of your painting signed "Manner" and dated "1966." This is by an unlisted, relatively unknown artist. That is not at all unusual--of the thousands of high-quality professional regional/local artists working each decade, only a small few continue to be known on the market and in the resource guides. Your painting is quite nice and, based on comparable paintings that have sold, would have a resale value of about $200 - $400."

The painting is in excellent condition. An amazing representation of townhouses on a street corner in what I can only assume is Brooklyn. The color scheme is urban browns, black, gray and brownstone red. There are two spots of green - the traffic light on the corner and the awning in the foreground.
It has an abstract quality and is very well presented! It is framed in a structured gray barn wood looking frame with a light gray finish. The piece is painted on a stretched canvas nailed to wood sides.
There is a hanging claw at the top. The frame is in really nice vintage shape. The canvas moves in the frame and could be tightened up if preferred.

It's really amazing!
