Vintage Hand Painted Royal Austria Daisy Milk Pitcher/Creamer

Vintage Hand Painted Royal Austria Daisy Milk Pitcher/Creamer

$22.50
I've always had a thing for daisies! They were even the flower we used for the church at our wedding - how very "flower child" of us! This little creamer or milk pitcher is a one of a kind find as someone has hand painted a daisy design with a soft green background on to a Royal O & E. G. Austria white ceramic creamer. The top rim and handle are accented in shiny gold. So adorable!

The painting has the signature of the painter on the bottom which has smeared a bit. It is also signed along the daisy image on one side and I think it reads Liljoadh (sp?) The artist was obviously very talented and should have claimed a bit more credit with a better signature on their work! I think this was painted more recently than the age of the dish, but it could be original to the early 1900s.

The bottom also has the green laurel leaf mark of O & E. G. Royal Austria. My research indicates the following information regarding the mark: O. & E.G. Royal Austria hallmark on porcelain; made by Oscar and Edgar Gutherz of Alt-Kohlaw, Austria between the years 1889 - 1918. Hallmarked in green with wreath; word Royal in wreath, O&EG above and Austria below.

The piece is in very nice condition with no scratching or blemishes in the paint.

This is really pretty and would add so much to your spring or Easter display! And daisies, no more needs to be said!
