Vintage Huyler's Filled Confections Victorian Scene Round Tin
$15.00
This striking lithograph Huyler's Filled Confections tin will be at home wherever you use it! It has quite a few elements that make it special:
-Two different shades of bright blue for the rim and bottom
-Charming Victorian street scene with people dressed in their finest at the door of Huyler's establishment
-Large, round profile that props well for décor.
-Listed ingredients on the lid
-Clean interior
-A piece of Americana
Research indicates: Huyler's was a candy and restaurant chain in the New York City metropolitan area that operated from 1874 to 1964, and for a time was the largest and most prominent chocolate maker in the United States. It was founded by John S. Huyler (rhymes with "Tyler"), who had grown up working in his father's bakery and ice cream store.
This tin is in decent vintage condition with just a bit of wear from age in the imagery - mostly in the blue edges. The lid comes on and off easily. The inside is really clean. has a few spots on rust on the sides and one spot of finish loss. The bottom is really clean. It would benefit from a good, gentle cleaning. The top is dent free but there are small scratches and quite a bit of usage marks. It does fit securely on the container. The colors and graphics are still really nice.
Just a fun vintage find with a bit of US history!
