Vintage Watercolor River Painting Doris Lea Watercolor Framed

Vintage Watercolor River Painting Doris Lea Watercolor Framed

$80.00
This beautiful original water color painting of a favorite bend in a river during the late fall/first snow season would make a charming addition to your gallery wall. Not certain which river this represents, but it captures the bend in a river like those found in so many places in our beautiful world. The signature on the piece, in the lower right hand corner, is Doris Lea, a noted West Michigan educator and painter.

Doris Lea (1933-2020) was a lifelong artist and she co-founded the Cadillac Art Fair over 50 years ago, now called the Cadillac Festival of the Arts.

This piece is a tranquil, exquisitely executed work and would be a splendid addition to your mid-western artist collection. The framing on this piece is also very nice. It is expertly framed with double neutral matting and a tin wood beveled frame with gold antiquing finish. The corners are tight. There are a few nicks in the surface of the stained wood on the edges but the front painted surfaces are really nice.

The painting itself is in excellent vintage condition, no noticeable marks or scuffs. The front is covered with glass and the back is brown cardboard. There is a hanging wire.

This piece was found at an Estate Sale of a avid art collector and the details are incredible. You feel the change of season and the light on the surrounding details of the riverbank is perfectly rendered.
