Vintage Wisconsin Farm in Winter Watercolor Painting Iola & Gordon Walker, Framed 1970s Winter Snow Covered Farm Buildings Watercolor Art

$135.00
Such a rural American scene - ready to be added to your winter décor. This beautifully executed watercolor is six farm buildings with their snow laden roofs. In the foreground is the barbwire fence standing idle over a snow filled pasture. The shadows on the snow and the clouds in the sky indicate more snow is on the way! I am presuming this is a Wisconsin dairy farm as the artists card on the back indicate Iola and Gordon Walker, Appleton Wisconsin. There are no tracks in the snow, no other signs of life.

This is an original oil painting found at an Estate sale and the artist card indicates Original Watercolors Mats & Framing by The Walkers, Iola & Gordon. 1901 N. Racine St. Appleton.
There is a sticker on the back indicating it was sold for $135 at the Mole Hole ( A well know Northern Michigan Gallery and Gift Shop) I was not able to find any biographical info on the artists. The Mole Hole is also no longer in operation so I can call them to see if they have any recollections.

The piece is framed in a substantial wood frame with wood grain details. There are double mats of off-white and cocoa brown. It is very heavy! The back is white foam board that is securely taped to the frame. It does have the original hanging hardware.

The frame and painting are in very nice vintage condition - some very minor scuffs and nicks around the frame edges but nothing of note on the painting itself. It is behind glass. Really nice for the age!

This would make a tremendous addition to a gallery wall of landscape images. Especially in the winter season. Farms are always nostalgic for so many.
