What a fun idea! This is The "Lookies", The Lively Question Marks of The Look-It-Up Club companion work book to the World Book Encyclopedia. This is the first edition from 1949.

The booklets are described as a complete set of "Lookies" - one bulletin for each month of the year, and each complete with page references to the completely modern World Book Encyclopedia. Binding them all together under one convenient cover prevents loss and insures you the advantage of reference to the entire series at all times. It was produced as a supplement to the World Book Encyclopedia to teach kids how to use their encyclopedia. It is 72 pages long and in very good condition.

Copyright 1949 by Field Enterprises, Inc. Educational Division Chicago. Printed in the USA S-1172

There are 6 pages for each month and include the Look-it-Up-Quiz, Games, Counting Activities, Writers to look up. Each activity has a reference to the World Book Encyclopedia page where the answers can be found. Adorable line drawn images are on each page and are either blue or red accented with black.

In really nice condition on the inside of the book, no writing or wear noted. The cover shows it's age a bit more with darkening and scuffs of the paper around the edges and a missing corner on the back top left.

I have this book for my 1959 World Book set and use it with my grandchildren often! It is fun - and educational - in an old school way!
