Let's go skating!

I believe these little metal trays were part of a child's tea set at one time and could be made into a set again if you wanted to gather some items that would compliment the colors in the imagery. In the mean time, they are the perfect little pieces to add to your Christmas mantel or shelf display to bring a touch of vintage joy! They both are small metal trays with red backgrounds with white polka dots that feature an image of two young children, holding hands, ice skating on the larger tray and the same young girl having falling on the ice in the smaller round tray. They appear to be in traditional Dutch clothing and have the sweetest expressions on their faces. The little boy is much less sure about ice skating than the pigtailed girl on the rectangular tray. Her expression changed on the small round tray!

These pieces are definitely in shabby/chippy vintage condition, showing obvious vintage wear with surface wear on the paint and slight rusting on the bare spots. The edges of the rectangular tray are scalloped. The background red of the rectangle tray is more faded than the small round tray. The rectangular tray does not lay completely flat but props up well for display. The round tray is quite level.

These just make me smile!
