I love the juxtaposition of the folk art painting with the utilitarian nature of this antique child's wooden shoe form. The wooden shoe form is in really nice condition with the metal hole on top and the metal heel plate on the bottom with the authentic antique nails. The sides of the shoe form are sanded smooth. The base is rougher as the manufacturing process dictated. It is labeled 64X. There are some scuffs in the wood, especially on the front toe.

Across the front ridge on the top is a hand painted quote which reads "Happiness is Found Along the Way...Not at the End of the Road." A lovely farm scene is painted below the quote. There is a red barn, pasture and woman in a bonnet feeding the chickens. The artist's initials bg are also noted. The paint is in really nice condition. There is some slight shadowing of the white paint for the quote, but I'm thinking that was as originally completed.

I believe the form is from the early 1900s and the folk art painting was likely finished in the 1970s or 80s.

Just a fun little decorative piece with a nod to earlier times!
