Mid-Century Piels Real Draft Promotional Salt & Pepper Shakers in Original Box, Brooklyn NY

Mid-Century Piels Real Draft Promotional Salt & Pepper Shakers in Original Box, Brooklyn NY

$26.50
I think my favorite thing about these pieces is the miniature sized bottles, and the box they nestle in, and the labels on the bottles, and the screw-on tops for the salt and pepper shakers. Okay, I like a lot of things about this cute set!

This is a set of brown glass salt and pepper shaker shaped like beer bottles. They were promotional items for Piels which was a beer company in Brooklyn New York from 1883 to 1973. This set is a replica of the Piels beer bottles with the same labels that are on the actual bottles. The caps are metal and have several shaker holes on the top. One top has a green back and one is plain silver to identify salt & pepper (I guess).

The labels read:

We certify that this is genuine draft beer brewed with the finest ingredients through a costly new scientific process that eliminates the need for pasteurization or refrigeration until cooled for drinking.
Piels New Real Draft Premium Beer

The come in the original cardboard box that was how the promotional item was distributed.

These items are good for use as salt and pepper shakers. They are also good addition to a Piels memorabilia collection.

They are in nice vintage condition. The box has darkened with age but has no rips or tears. The top metal caps do come off but are a bit difficult, thus the slight kinks in the metal from getting them on and off.
