Vintage Roseville Robinson Ransbottom (RRPCO) Ombre Green Bowl

Vintage Roseville Robinson Ransbottom (RRPCO) Ombre Green Bowl

$28.00
Look at this beauty! This is a kelly green, Ombre effect, drip edge Robinson Ransbottom (R.R.P CO.) shallow bulb planter pot. It is model 311 6. Bulb planter pots are also sometimes used in the landscaping of a bonsai garden and other items like tiny porcelain figures, bridges, and houses can be included in a bonsai garden if you choose to arrange your garden this way. This is so pretty I think I would use it as a catch all dish on my entry way table as well!

The bottom is marked U.S.A. Roseville Ohio 311 6 RRP Co.

This piece is in very nice vintage condition, there are no chips on the top edge. There is crazing of the outside surface and three three spots where the glaze has been worn away. The glaze is ultra shiny and that is why there are white spots in some of the photographs; they are simply light reflections from the shiny glaze. Other than the three spots mentioned, there are no white spots on the piece. There are a couple of marks inside the bowl that were from the manufacturing process, not flaws.

Interesting historical background of Robinson Ransburg Pottery (RRP Co.):

The Robinson Ransbottom Company (RRPCO) is not to be mistaken as the Roseville Pottery Company of Ohio, although both manufacturing plants were located in Ohio. Ransbottom produced a lot of heavy stoneware, crocks, ironstone, cookie jars, planters, etc., and very few art pieces or what is termed Art Pottery while The Roseville Company produced almost all art pottery, and very few utilitarian (useful) pottery pieces like Ransbottom did. The Robinson Randsbottom Company also known as R.R.P. USA opened its doors in 1900 and by 1920 soon became the largest pottery company making useful items for farming communities and city folk alike. In 2005 they went bankrupt and closed their doors.
