This is a lovely vintage liquor glass bottle that was distributed by Holmegaard and Made in Denmark in the mid 1980s. They were hand painted with motifs from Hans Christian Andersen Fairy tales. The series was produced in 7 different motifs by the illustrator Lars Bo. This presentation is from the story, "The Tinderbox". They were only made in very limited numbers and getting harder and harder to find in nice condition.
It is marked on the bottom H.C. Andersen Fyrtojet (Fairy Tale) Lars Bo. in white cursive letters.
This canister is in excellent condition, there are no chips, cracks or repairs. The painted scenes are so fun - the front is a tree with the solider and old woman from the story and the sun sinking on the horizon. One side and the back have the dogs with the enormous eyes, one sitting one running and the other side has a pair of boots. The cork top is in really nice shape and has a wonderful silver disk lid with a silver ring for ease of removal.
