This adorable 1960s McCoy pottery faux hammered bronze kettle cookie jar is such a gem. The dimpled surface and black accents are made to resemble hammered metal and the well formed lid with handle are nice details. Honestly, I can't believe how many times the lid must have been taken on and off and there is only one of the smallest marks on the end of the "spout", nothing on the rims at all! Clearly not the same family used this as mine all these years! Everything is really clean inside as well.

The bottom indicates McCoy USA and my research indicates this likely dates to the 1960s. There is a spot at the center of the bottom where the finish glaze is missing. This appears to be from manufacture, as the surface is smooth, just no glaze. The bump in the middle of the bottom is from the manufacturing process as well. The jar sits level, these marks do not impact the piece at all.

Wouldn't this be cute perching on the kitchen counter, of course, filled with homemade cookies!
