Vintage MCM Glass Pitcher and Five Glasses with Serving Tray

Vintage MCM Glass Pitcher and Five Glasses with Serving Tray

$55.00
This is a really sweet retro pitcher and glass set made circa the 1940's/50s. These were quite common from the era and were used to serve juice in the morning or lemonade in the afternoon. There is a pitcher and 5 coordinating glasses. (I suspect there were 6 glasses at one time) They all have the same design; lightly colored bottoms with a heavy gold band near the top and the base of the colored area and three thinner gold bands in the middle. And a fun addition is they come with a little, homemade wooden serving tray with decorated sides and a twisted center handle. This was not part of the original set but is perfect to display the glass set on a bar cart, in your man cave or even on open shelving in your kitchen if you have gold decorative accents.

Everything is in good vintage condition. There are no chips and no cracks in either the pitcher or any of the five glasses. There is visible wear and fading to the gold bands and colored bottoms on ALL the pieces. The interiors of all the pieces are clean and stain-free. The bottom of the pitcher is pinkish red, 2 glasses are purple, 2 yellow and 1 blue on their bottoms. (I suspect the missing glass was the second blue). The little tray has chippy light blue paint and that has nicks and usage marks. The four decorated sides are simply nailed on and those nails are a bit loose.

No manufacturer markings on any of the pieces.

It's not perfect, but it's perfectly charming and could be just the right touch to bring some MCM charm to your breakfast buffet or luncheon spread this summer.
