Vintage No-Drip Gravy Separator: MCM Hand-Painted Vegetable Ceramic

Vintage No-Drip Gravy Separator: MCM Hand-Painted Vegetable Ceramic
$22.50
What a cute little piece to add to your farmhouse kitchen! This is a mid-century No-Drip Gravy Separator that has practical applications and would look adorable when perching on a shelf, awaiting it's next call to duty! This piece is rather unique with it's functionality and lid that separates heavy and lean. It's very cleverly built so that after you pour the juices from your meat or chicken and let them settle, you pour from the lean side it pours off the bottom away from the fat and if you pour from the heavy side you get the fat from the top.
The piece is a creamy white light-weight ceramic with cute hand-painted veggies. The handle has snap peas, the Heavy side a beet, the Lean side bok choy and the lid a carrot and corn.
Such great Mid-Century vibes for a collection or a fun tool to pull out for its intended use. There is no manufacturer markings. My research indicates this is likely from the 1950s.
Very smooth ceramic with graphics in perfect condition. There are no chips or cracks in the ceramic and really clean imagery. There are also some rough spots in the ceramic finish in the inside of the pour spout that are from the manufacturing process. It does not seem like this was ever used.
Dimension:
7” handle end to side
7 1/4” length X 4 1/2" width of bowl
4” high to top of knob on lid
Capacity appears to be about 1 - 1 1/2 cups
