Framed Vintage American Eagle "E Plurbus Unum" Embroidery and Cross Stitch

Framed Vintage American Eagle "E Plurbus Unum" Embroidery and Cross Stitch

$85.00
This lovely vintage cross stitch and embroidered wall hanging of a rendition of the American Eagle with a banner underneath declaring E Plurbus Unum would make the perfect Independence Day decoration or a great gift for the patriot in your life. The simple cross stitch stitches are extremely well done and the embroidered banner and other elements are as well. It appears to be cotton thread on a linen background. I really admire the handi-work of the seamstress for this piece. Much love and care was taken to create this patriotic wall hanging.

It is framed in a solid oak wood frame that has 1940s style metal corner attachments that are quite unique - haven't run across this exact style before. There are a few nicks in the wood of the frame on three of the four sides and the two bottom corners are no tight. All add to the authentic vintage feel of the piece but could also be cleaned up with minimal effort. There is a wire hanging piece on the back and a newer cardboard piece covering the back. It would be the perfect piece to set on the mantel during patriotic holidays (4th of July, Veterans Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, D-Day Anniversary, etc.)

The piece is in good vintage condition as the stitching was protected under glass all these years. Looking closely you can see a few marks in the linen background - one in the lower right hand corner and one above the head. I think there is some shadowing of the loose threads also. I think it may be worth it to take the piece apart, do a gentle cleaning and re-tighten the piece into the frame. Or, leave as is - it works well!
