Moving into fall colors and tones for decorating is one of my favorite seasonal changes. Halloween is a nice focal point at the end of that timeframe as well. But, I have always, even as a little girl, been frightened by Halloween "spookiness". This year I have been on the hunt for items that could be used in Fall and Halloween decorating that are fun, light hearted and definitely unique. I have quite the collection brought together. Each item will be posted separately, accompanied by a few photos of vignettes with other items to spark your creativity.

If you wanted to add some red paint to this piece, in would be a gruesome addition to your Halloween display. I like the "suggestion" of gore that the piece offers, instead of the direct method!!!

This antique treasure has a black painted cast iron handle with quite the heft to it. The blade is curved to be the perfect kitchen tool for chopping vegetables or fruit. The blade is sturdy metal and has two notches on the top edge. It is not currently sharp but could be sharpened to resume its intended purpose.

The handle is in really nice condition. The blade has oxidation and surface rust that would clean up nicely with a bit of effort, it that is your preferred look. This is a really nice antique piece and it serves well as a component in a Halloween display.
