These belong on the table in your farmhouse kitchen or better yet, on your Easter table! This set of hand painted ceramic pajama clad, blonde haired, close eyed, kneeling children are salt & pepper shakers with soft pastel colors and sweet details. There are marked Japan on the bottom and, this along with their style and appearance lead me to believe they were from the 1950s. They both have the original corks but those have fallen into the bodies of the shakers and would take some effort to retrieve. New corks area likely in order.

They are in really nice vintage condition; the knees, crowns of the heads, hands and facial features are not chipped and no paint loss is noted. The only way you can determine which is the salt and which is the pepper is the size of the holes, which is a quirky little addition to their charm.

They are just so sweet and would work as well in a display on the mantel as they would as a decorative addition to the Easter table.
