This is a sweet silver plate metal Peter Rabbit bank to be the center point of your Easter decor! Peter is properly attired in his waistcoat and holding a carrot in one hand and eating another one in the other hand. The tree stump that he stands on is embossed PETER RABBIT on the front.

There is considerable patina which brings a dark gold look to the piece, particularly around the face and ears. I tested metal cleaner on a small part of the back and it would clean up beautifully to a shiny silver but it would be a significant polishing effort. Your preference!

The coin opening is the full length of the back of his body. The base has a opening mechanism that is secure and easy to operate - just line up the notches and the plates comes off.

The markings on the base of the back are Schmid 1979 F. Warne and Company Inc. New York and London.

After using it for Easter decor, it would display so well in a nursery or farmhouse kitchen, or would be a sweet gift for a baby shower or welcome baby item.
