Jolly Old Saint Nichols - commonly known as Santa Claus is a nostalgic Christmas favorite for all ages. This is a collection of two fun pieces with a Santa Claus theme to add to your Christmas décor. The set contains two items; 1978 Printing of "Santa's Surprise Book" and a needlepoint Santa pillow. I was struck by how much the Santa's in each piece looked so similar. It's like they were made to be a set!

1 - "Santa's Surprise Book". A Little Golden Book written by Joan Potter Elwart and Illustrated by Florence Sarah Winship, Golden Press Copyright 1966, Eight Printing 1978. Great Christmas reader for primary students. Charming and vivid illustrations of Santa, Mrs Claus and the elves, through out this very delightful Christmas story! And Santa jumps into "this book" at the end to be with YOU on Christmas. That story would be reinforced by the pillow! There are scuffs and age related markings on front and back cover. Some waviness to the pages inside (likely from damp storage although does not smell). Binding is tight, all pages included. No writing in the book. Colors are still very vibrant and story is cheerful! Dimensions: 6 1/2" x 8"

2 -Vintage wool needlepoint Christmas pillow with Santa filling the children’s stockings on the front and a soft red velvet backing. The red velvet serves as a border around the front of the pillow as well. Really nice condition. Firmly stuffed and displays well. Some small remnants of the white tag show on the back that could be removed. Likely from the late 1980s. Dimensions: 9”x 9”
