WWII US Army Ashtray & Telephone Handbook - 1945 Patriotic Decor Set

WWII US Army Ashtray & Telephone Handbook - 1945 Patriotic Decor Set
$45.00
What fun pieces and authentic WWII mementos. This is a set of two items from that era and look great together as display pieces.
1 - Service Men's Telephone Handbook published by Illinois Bell Telephone Company, AT&T. This little pocket sized booklet was distributed in 1945 to Service Men from Illinois as a public service piece. It includes a Calendar for 1945 and 1946 inside along with pages of telephone usage instructions and Places to Visit in Chicago. It is unused. There are age issues, the most prominent being a row of stains on the front cover that bled into the first three pages. Not horrible, and still quite display worthy. The stapled binding is in tact and all pages are included. Dimensions: 3" x 4"
2 - WWII US Army Painted Metal Ash Tray. The outside of the metal ashtray is painted blue with a red rim. The center has a pearlized background and a hand painted US Eagle insignia with US ARMY note at the top. The back is unpainted. This piece was most likely used in an officers club. It also likely had a clear glass plate that was used to capture ashes and keep the paint in nice condition. That is no longer with the piece. This is really nice for a display item and compliments the booklet well. Dimensions: 5 3/8" diameter, 3/4" tall
