Antique Birch Trees in Winter Watercolor, Framed at Hudson's

Antique Birch Trees in Winter Watercolor, Framed at Hudson's
$55.00
This stunning, likely antique, painting presents a misty morning in a landscape with birch trees. It appears to be a watercolor and is presented in natural colors of greens and browns. The trees have no leaves, yet the ground is green so I am wondering if this was an early spring presentation of a field with a stand of birch trees.
The piece has an off-white mat with hand painted lines of browns and gold to accent the piece. Very beautifully presented. The frame is a slim profile beveled wood frame with a black and gold antiqued painted finish. The back is covered with brown paper (which has been damaged with age) and has the original black and gold foil Hudson's Pictures and Picture Framing Detroit sticker. A simple hanging wire is attached. I do not know the exact age of the piece but the evidence of this sticker and it being included on the still attached back of the piece confirm my suspicion that is from the 1920s or 30s. This certainly appears to be an original, but no signature or dating is visible as matted and framed.
The image is in wonderful condition, as it has been under glass. There is some slight age spotting on the mat and some slight scuffs in the gold and black paint of the frame. The frame is still square and not dented or nicked, just paint scuffs. It is behind glass.
Dimensions:
Image - 5 1/2" x 9"
Framed - 11 1/4" x 14 1/4" x 3/4"
