Vintage Children Print: Sister and Baby in Antique Wooden Frame

Vintage Children Print: Sister and Baby in Antique Wooden Frame
$75.00
What an incredible print of an older sister playing with a baby and doll in an idyllic cottage setting. Of course their little kitty looks on! The print has incredible period details ( I suspect it is a print of a lithograph from the 1880s possibly) and the frame is a beautiful antique.
The print and the frame show some wear due to their age, which is also part of the charm. The print is in good condition color and presentation wise, it just has some spots of apparent aging. There is a glossy coating applied to the print.
The print is glued on to a piece of cardboard. That cardboard has an inscription in pencil of "
Presented to Josie Hagley (sp?) By M.A. Hensel (sp?) S.S. Teacher 1888. I do not believe this print is from the 1880s but it is possible that the frame could have been from that time frame and housed another image originally. The frame is really quite amazing with its beveled inner edges and curved outside edges of solid wood. It is stained a honey brown and has a high gloss finish. There is some separation at the corners but they add to the authenticity of it's age.
The piece is behind glass and the back is cardboard. No identification of the print is noted along the bottom edge like is sometimes to be found, which leads me to believe it is not a lithograph. The cardboard backing is in decent vintage shape. There is a sturdy (if aged) hanging wire on the back.
This would be a wonderful accent at the cabin or in the middle of a gallery wall with other lithograph prints. Very unique and compelling piece!
