What a treasure! This is an antique gravure lithograph print entitled "Guarding". It is a large St Bernard dog guarding a sleeping girl on the beach. She has built a small sand castle with a tiny American flag on the top. This piece is from a genre entitled Guardian prints. (Note the second picture has a yellow cast - the colors of the first picture are more accurate.)

The lithography print is framed with a simple gold painted wood frame that I believe is quite old as well. It is a bit loose in the frame and would benefit from more supports added to the back.

The print and the frame show some wear due to their age, which is also part of the charm. The chromo is in good condition color and presentation wise, it just has some waviness to the paper. The frame has some nicks in the wood and I believe has been painted more recently to upgraded it's appearance.

There is glass on the front. The cardboard backing is in decent vintage shape. There is a rudimentary hanging wire on the back.

This would be a wonderful accent at the cabin or in the middle of a gallery wall with other lithograph prints. Very unique and compelling piece!
