Wouldn't this be lovely in your sun porch, florists studio, changing room, sewing or craft room, kitchen, bathroom - anywhere actually!

This is a painting, depicting a young lady hard at work on hand sewing in the light of an oil lamp or candles. It is signed in the lower left hand corner, but I can not decipher the signature. In my research I was able to find a very similar image, entitled "The Seamstress" by Jean Lefort, a French artist (1875 - 1954). This is an amazing reproduction of that piece!

Given that there is a signature, I believe this to be an original reproduction, not a print. The surface of the painting is textured and layered and has the most amazing presence for such a simple domestic scene.

The piece is currently framed in a wood frame with lovely gold antiquing finish on the inner and outer rim and a stenciled designed on the inside area of the frame. It is all in beautiful condition. The brown paper backing from the frame shop has been removed the the back of the board of the painting can be seen. It does a nice job enhancing the piece. There is a hanging wire on the back.
