Antique Inscribed Micro-beaded, Fringed and Flowered Evening Purse

Antique Inscribed Micro-beaded, Fringed and Flowered Evening Purse

$100.00
This beautiful microbead purse with a blue and gray background and a bouquet of flowers in the middle is inscribed on the inside of the top clasp, " Alice Larkin Elmira NY 1907" - A rare find from the early 1900s! The purse has a top metal frame with a kiss lock closure and chain handle. The inside is a light blue suede material. The floral design is on the front and it is all blue on the back. Twisted gray fringe extends off the bottom. This is a lovely sought after collectible piece that may be just the thing to add to your wedding assemblage - it fits both the something old and something blue category and it is so very pretty.

Also inscribed on the inside frame is G. Silver. G. Silver is a mark for German silver which is actually a combination of copper, nickel, and zinc. The lovely monogram dates this to the early 1900s and the G. Silver marks indicates Germany is the place of origin.

This purse is in really nice antique condition. There are a few tarnish marks on the frame and clasp. There only place were beads are missing is on the back top, just below the frame. The inside light blue suede liner has dirtiness to the surface, it is cleaner deeper down into the purse. I suspect a gentle cleaning with the appropriate suede cleaning product would brighten it up a bit. There is also a dark spot underneath the beads on the back just below the clasp on the left side.

Just really special!
