Four Vintage Blue and Gold Design Dishes

Four Vintage Blue and Gold Design Dishes

$55.00

My sister's husband’s Aunt was a collector and you can see the fruits of her labor in the mismatched, yet beautifully integrated, set of four vintage plates and bowls from three different manufacturers that create a really nice cohesive set.

#1 and #3 - Edwin M Knowles Laurel Pattern Semi-Vitreous China dessert plate and bowl from the 1940s. This pattern featured a delicate light blue laurel pattern around the edge, interspersed with white flowers with yellow centers. The outside rim had a raised wide spaced scallop edge with a thin gold line around the top and bottom of the laurel design. The Edwin M. Knowles China Co mark is clear on the bottom of both pieces. There are no chips or cracks in either piece. There is quite a bit of usage marks and a large portion of the thin gold line is rubbed off.

Dimensions:

Bowl - 5 3/8" diameter, 1 1/4" high

Plate - 8 1/4" diameter

#2 - PK Silesia German: This is a vintage dessert plate made by PK Silesia in Germany features a yellow gold and black Art Deco design around the interior rim on a background of creamy colored china with an embossed outer edge. The H M PK Silesia Germany back stamp is present on the piece. I could not locate another plate of similar pattern so I do not know the pattern name or age for sure, but I suspect 1940s from the design aesthetic . This plates is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or scratches other than two small chips on the footed part of the bottom. There is some minor wear to the painted pattern and the finish is a bit smudged.

Dimensions:

7 1/2" diameter

#4 - Vintage Blue transferware ironstone plate from Moulin des Loups & Hamage Nord in the Maroc pattern. This transferware plate was manufactured by the famous factory Moulin des Loups & Hamage in the North of France. This French plate is made out of white ironstone with a lovely oriental blue transferware decor called "Maroc". The plate is in vintage condition with scratches and wear but as you would expect for a much loved and used antique. No chips or cracks in the piece. It is very heavy and chunky feeling, quite primitive and rustic.

Dimensions:

9 1/4" diameter

Sold as a mismatched (yet perfect together) set of Four.
