I see a lot of beautiful tea cups at estate sales and have to school myself to only purchase special ones. This one I had to have!

What makes it special - the soft pink color of the background and the charming spring flowers and birch trees painted on the inside and outside of the cup and the rim of the saucer, the fluted design of the cup, the gold accents along the handle and the raised design setting it all off. The scene also features a winding pathway runs alongside a rambling brook accented with misty purple and pink clouds with pink foxgloves and blue bells in the foreground. Wow! It is from Aynsley, Bone China, Made in England.

This is a real beauty for the Aynsley collector! This piece uses the marking, Aynsley began using in 1939. There are some numbers on the bottom of the saucer that may represent the pattern but I can not really decipher them.

The condition is really nice with no chips, cracks or fleabites. There is some overall crazing noted on the inside and outside of the cup but none on the saucer. There is also one stripe of darker pink inside the side of the cup that was there since production based on the way it is beneath the finish. This lovely set is a pleasure to hold and crafted with care, and would compliment any spot you place it in or make a memorable gift.
