Antique Boy and Dog Oil Painting: 1892 Framed Garden Scene

Antique Boy and Dog Oil Painting: 1892 Framed Garden Scene
$225.00
What a whimsical piece! I was so excited when I spied this original antique oil painting of a young boy pushing a wheelbarrow with his dog on board. So much amazing detail in the image of the boy and his dog, but the surrounding trees and greenery is equally nice. This young man appears to be hard at work, and the dog equally hard at leisure.
The frame is quite old as well and made of heavy dark wood with a beveled design (almost like a shadow box) with an inner gold painted accent. The frame is in really nice condition with no chips or cracks. There is some separation in the corners (that could be remedied with some TLC), a few scuffs in the wood and spots of bubbling in the varnish due to the age of the piece.
The painting is in wonderful condition for it's age. There area few surface scuffs along the edge where is was held into the frame. I think it has been newly tightened into the frame and those scuffs were from prior looseness. There is some slight surface crazing of the paint. The finish is quite glossy. It is painted on a hardboard that has Russell's Canvas Board Patd Mar 1879 printed in read and 1892 written in pencil on the back. There is a newer hanging wire still attached.
This would be so charming for your garden room, son or grand son's bedroom, the library or even as part of a gallery wall celebrating pets or children. It is so unique. No one else would have a piece like this.
