Vintage Wooden Fountain Syringe Storage Box

Vintage Wooden Fountain Syringe Storage Box

$28.00
This is a vintage display box from the local pharmacy that has really nice construction elements and the original beige, gray and gold accented label on the inside. The label indicates this was a box for displaying Alpha Fountain No. 3 Syringe Manufactured Only by Parker, Stearns & Company New York City USA . Additionally there is a wooden cross piece that these pipes screwed on to for display. Really amazing that this side piece is still attached to the lid.

I believe the box is made of oak. The corners of the box and the lid all have mitered joints. There is a small metal clasp on the front and two metal hinges on the back. It is stained a medium oak color on the outside. The inside has the paper label on the back of the lid and the bottom of the box as well. Lots of instructions on using the product and A Few Facts to educate the user on why this is the best product!

The box is in really nice vintage condition. The corners are still sharp and the stain is still bright and has a nice sheen. It could do with a coat of tung oil. There are a few surface scratches in the wood on the top and the front edge. The bottom is unfinished. The front clasp is still firmly attached and the back hinges are just slightly loose. The inside paper and paint are still in really nice shape. The bottom paper is quite dusty and a gentle cleaning would likely be in order.

Use it for whatnots, note cards, or your own hankies or gloves on your dresser top or at the office on your desktop - it is sure to be a conversation piece and it's just too retro cool to stash away!
