Such a rural American scene - ready to be added to your décor. The centerpiece of the painting is a historical covered bridge over a dirt road, early autumn foliage in the background. The bridge is surrounded by stately trees and grasses and I can almost hear the cicadas singing! The light in the image reflects the late afternoon sun and for some reason the scene makes me think of Indiana!

This is an original oil painting found at an Estate sale and signed Reichart '92 in the lower right hand corner.

The piece is framed in a very nice wood frame, with rose gold paint and an inner linen liner.
It does have the original hanging hardware on the back but it needs to be repaired.

The frame and painting are in very nice vintage condition - some scuffs and nicks around the frame edges but none noted on the painting itself. Really nice for the age!

This would make a tremendous addition to a gallery wall of landscape images. It is a substantially sized piece and could serve as the center point for a gallery wall as well.

A very fine oil on board portrait of a mountain chalet perched in a tree lined valley with a majestic mountain peak on the horizon. It is signed in the lower left corner by artist - K Murray. This image will really appeal to those who love the mountains as it depicts the first snow of the season on the mountain top while it is just a dusting of snow on the the still green ground in the valley. The oil is applied in textures and gives a sense of movement and depth to the painting. I'm not sure my photos due it justice!

The painted surface is in excellent condition. It is painted on a rustic board which is securely held into the hand made shadow box frame. The frame is painting in shades of rust and black with white accents. Some of the knots of the wood of the frame have bled through the white painted areas. The paint on the frame does have a dustiness that would benefit from a new layer or it would be simple to change out the frame if so desired.

This is an original piece of art and a great mountain portrait to add to any collection and/or to accent any cabin or cottage space.

What a cute little piece that would be perfect to add to a late summer, early fall vignette. This is an original oil painting on canvas board that is a peaceful little presentation of a daisy strewn field, a country road, a bucket on a barbed wire fence post and trees begin to turn colors, and geese flying, on the horizon. The painting is signed Vernice.

It is set in a medium tone faux wood shadow box frame. You can see that the canvas was cut to fit the frame on both the top, one side and bottom edge. There are a few surface scuffs in the finish that I think a stain stick would do wonders to clean up. I envision this painting being used in a fall mantel theme, or even Halloween display. The neutral brown colors and the rustic setting would look so good with the orange and blue of that seasonal palette!

The painting is in great condition. The frame, save the scuffs is also. There is a sturdy hanging claw on the back. It stands up well on its own due to the depth of the shadowbox frame.

It's really charming!

A perfect piece to add to your Halloween, or Autumn, vignettes. This beautifully rendered image of a barn owl is a combination of paper art on the wings and oil painting for the finish. This is a very realistic up-close presentation of a mighty owl, and just a bit haunting, with the yellow piercing eye and prominent beak. The colors used for the body and wings are such wonderful shades of browns and tans, as in nature.

Adding to the drama of the presentation is the antique frame which houses the piece. Beveled medium stained oak for the outside of the frame and and inner decorative plaster edge that has been painted shades of silver. Just stunning!

The pieces are both in really nice condition. The paper art/painting has a double neutral mat. No signature or dating is noted. The frame shows some of it's age with scuffs and nicks in the wood and the original nails are still visible in the still tight corners. I think the paint that was applied to the inner plaster edge was not cleaned off the wood frame as well as could be. This could be remedied by removing the painting and applying paint remover and wood finish, if desired. There is no glass over the piece.

I remember having the hardest time last winter finding a fun little winter scene oil painting to brighten up my winter displays. Imagine my excitement when I found this little piece. It was just the kind of thing I was looking for to add some color to a winter mantel display. I want Warmth & Cheer customers to have better luck than I was last year!

This vintage pastel oil painting is just a striking winter scene with a cozy house sheltering along the banks of a frozen river, a foot bridge and water trough and well pump in the front. There is a soft orange winter sunset sky peeking out through a stand of snow laden trees and a surrounding snowy landscape. You can almost feel the cold and crispness of the air and the lights in the house and skis at the front door gives the air of coziness to the home! The colorways are subtle and reminiscent of winter light, which makes it adaptable to many décor styles. I particularly like the color of the sky and house.

You could add this painting to a collection of nature scenes or prop it on a bookshelf or mantel. It is not signed or dated, but judging by the rest of the items from the Estate sale I would put it in the 1940s.

It is framed in a nicely detailed wood frame that has a silver wash finish and silver and black accents. The piece is securely held into the frame and there is brown backing paper still in place. The frame is in very nice vintage condition with just a bit of surface nicks and scuffs and paint loss. The corners are tight. The painting is in very nice condition with just a bit of waviness to the surface behind the glass. It has a really nice presence. There is a corded hanging wire. It is behind glass.

The piece is signed in the lower right hand corner, A. Marriott. There was a sticker accompanying the piece at the sale that indicated it was from the artist Althea Marriott Dean and appraised by the local museum curator at $150.

Overall really nice condition and a special winter scene!

Oh my goodness - I drive by an abandoned farm surrounded by a field of wildflowers, including daisies for 2 full months in the summer and they are in the middle of their second bloom right now. This oil painting has captured a similar scene so well. This is an evocative oil painting by Elaine Wright from Swartz Creek Michigan that has a photographic quality. The abandoned horse cart and tree posts are strikingly contrasted with the cheerful white daisies in their temporary bucket home! The grasses are turning to brown, the fence and wagon are no longer in working condition, but the flowers are still blooming!

The piece is framed in a wood frame with gold and linen contrast, a common type of frame used in the late 1970s/early 1980s out of Mexico. It adds to the rustic and beautiful juxtaposition of the elements of the painting.

The art piece is in very good vintage condition, no noted flaws I can see. The frame is a bit dusty in the corners and appears to be a bit dried out , a good cleaning and application of wood oil would serve it well. It is substantial and sturdy.

It is painted on a canvas that is in nice condition on the back as well. There is a hanging wire. The painting is held into the frame with substantial brackets. I believe this was likely for sale at an Arts & Craft fair in it's day as there is a FOR SALE $80 tag on the back. 1979 is in black marker on the back as well.

What a clever piece of original art from a collectible artist. This is an original watercolor work of art by Wayne Cooper, a listed American artist. (See the bio info I found below) The piece is an amazing depiction of a portion of a barn with various natural and man made items emerging from a snow storm. The piece was composed to show the beauty of that storm by silhouetting the pieces to emerge from a white textured background. Snow flakes cover the items as well. Included in the imagery is a small segment of the barn, a partially obscured tree with a hatchet in the trunk, a wood box and domed lid trunk and a tree stump with a wood basket. These items are presented in watercolor. A textured white coating is brushed over the entire setting. You can almost feel the snow falling! A striking composition with excellent technique. It is signed in the lower right, -Wayne Cooper 71-. The piece is behind glass and has a simple tan mat inside the brown wood frame. There is a olive green inner paint trim on the frame as well.

I am very comfortable that it is not a print. The painting is in excellent condition, I believe it was behind glass since completion. The frame has a very 1970s vibe and has a slim profile with oak trim and a painted green outside rim. There are some usage scratches and slight nicks on the surface of the frame. It is in very nice vintage condition otherwise. The back has brown finishing paper and there is a hanging wire. It is moderately heavy. (3 pounds)

This piece is an iconic rural Americana scene from a listed American artist. It was appraised at $1,500 - $2,000. Be still my heart!

Wayne Cooper was born in 1942 near Depew, Oklahoma. His talent was recognized at an early age, leading to intense training with Woody Crumbo, the Famous Artist School, Gary Artist League, Valparaiso University, the American Atelier in New York City and the Cowboy Artist of America Museum in Kerrville, Texas and with such well-known artists as Joe Beeler and Howard Terpning. Wayne Cooper's professional career started in 1964 in Chicago. He lived, painted and sculpted in New York City from 1974 to 1981. He returned to Oklahoma to paint and sculpt Western subjects. Wayne Cooper's works are represented in collections throughout the world, both public and private. Many museums are proud to include his paintings and sculpture in their collections, including the Will Rogers Museum in Claremore, Oklahoma; the Oklahoma Heritage Museum; and the American Indian Museum in Catoosa, Oklahoma. Wayne Cooper has also been commissioned to do several large-scale oil paintings for the Senate in the Capitol Building in Oklahoma City.

Publications include: Who's Who in the Mid-West, Who's Who in American Art, Dictionary of Biographies, International Who's Who in Art and Antiques, Dictionary of International Biographies, Universal Directory of the Arts and Personalities of the Americans. This is such a wonderful piece by a Northern Michigan artist, Jane Batteiger. I was lucky enough to attend an Estate sale of one of her patrons and found two pieces to bring to Warmth and Cheer!

This piece is signed on the front Batteiger and has Gouache - Jane Batteiger in ink on the back as well. It is a wonderfully composed painting of a rural setting in Northern Michigan.
The utilitarian gray barn is surrounded by a bright blue winter sky and trees and hills.

It is currently housed in a white wood frame from Target and deserves a custom framing! The piece itself is taped onto a white double mat and has been protected under glass so is in very nice condition. The frame has a few nicks and divots in the wood and there is a foam core board holding the piece securely in place. There is a hanging wire.

Jane Batteiger is a year round resident of Leelanau County. She has spent many years involved in art education and landscape painting. The opportunity to live and paint in Leelanau County has developed a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and change of seasons that the area provides. Jane feels privileged to live in an area where man’s footprint has blended naturally into the mosaic of lakes, beaches, dunes, and forests. As an artist, the continuing shift of this incredible landscape provides constant inspiration. Jane is involved in the Glen Arbor Art Association having served on the Board of Directors and is a past president of GAAA. She exhibits her work locally and participates in area shows.

I am not certain if Jane is still painting commercially.
