This is an adapted story of the famous, BOB, Son of Battle by Alfred Ollivant originally published in 1898. This was a classic novel of sheepdog loyalty and rural life in northern England (Scotland) in the early 19th Century.
The full novel has been adapted into a colorful, illustrated story book by Olive Price and issued with the most charming illustrations by Mort Kuntsler. The illustrations are a combination of black and white and color. The front and back cover are in full color. The first and last page has an amazing colorful illustration of all the main characters in the story. Wouldn't your child, or grand child, enjoy this story. Especially if there is a dog in your life! It should be in your collection!
The book is in good vintage condition. There is no dust jacket but the cover has fared well over time; it has a protective coating over the colorful illustrations. The colors are still bright. That covering is fraying a bit on the binding edges and both the top and bottom corner of the binding are a bit tattered. The other corners are bumped as well. The paper of the pages inside is really clean and there is no extraneous writing. The binding is still firmly in tact with no loose pages (61 pages). No off odor.
