Vintage Child's Feeding Dish with Little Girl and Metal Back

Vintage Child's Feeding Dish with Little Girl and Metal Back

$42.50
I couldn't believe how darling this vintage baby feeding dish that holds warm water to keep baby’s food warm was. So often, the older dishes like this were focused around nursery rhymes, which aren't always my favorite. This looks like a little Heidi! I believe this was likely from the 1930’s based on the design, the handles and the art work on the ceramic bowl, and likely from Germany, but there are no specific manufacturer markings to verify.

The top porcelain ceramic bowl is painted with the cutest little girl with her basket of vegetables and a much too large umbrella. She and a little squirrel are looking quizzically at something over her shoulder. Around the edge of the bowl are a barking dog, a frolicking little dog, a fish, a butterfly, a grasshopper and another squirrel.

This darling feeding dish for a baby, child, or toddler is a ceramic bowl which is encased in a metal casing with a spout. The spout is where the hot water is poured which fills the encasement, therefore keeping the contents in the bowl warm. The spout has a screw on lid, all in good condition.

There are only the slightest of surface scratches on the painted design. The back metal piece has some oxidation and scratching, but no dents and no rust. All in very nice vintage condition and still very usable.

This is an exceptional dish and you will be pleased with adding it to a collection, displaying in the nursery or to give as a gift for a baby shower!
