This is just such a sweet piece. A vintage, handmade, hand stitched baby crib quilt or blanket with scalloped edges. In the center are two sweet appliqued lambs; one in light blue, one in yellow. They have quite a bit of intricate embroidery details in their faces and bodies. Each of them have checked fabric ears and tails to the design. They are surrounded by an embroidered daisy chain heart. "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep" is embroidered above and below the lamb motif.

The background is bright white and the edges are scalloped light blue, the same light blue that completed the backing.

The piece is machine sewn for the main blanket and the scalloped edges. It is then hand stitched in each of the four corners and for all the design elements. The cotton fabric is very clean and soft. The batting is fairly thick and the overall piece has some heft. It does not iron completely flat, but rather has thickness to the appearance.

I have freshly laundered and ironed the piece, after a nice long soaking, and you could put it right to use in your nursery!
