This is a really special book which tells the story of "Little Greta of Denmark", a delightful picture of Danish life. The author wove into the story of little Greta's adventures a great deal of the history, geography and everyday life of this fascinating little country.

The book includes numerous photographs taken in and around Copenhagen Denmark by the author during a long visit to the country.
Would be of interest to any young reader that is interested in other cultures. The author and photographer was Bernadine Bailey. This book is part of the Children of All Lands Series published in the 1930s and 40s.

The Children of All Lands Series is an eighteen title series which chronicles the tales of children in their native lands. The stories take the readers on a geographical and historical tour of the title country. The text is complemented by numerous photographs. The stories are simply told for children. The first fourteen books were written by Madeline Brandeis (1897-1937), the author of four of the six volumes of the Children of America Story series. After her death in 1937 (from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident) , other authors were enlisted to write the last volumes in each series. Brandeis took the photographs that appeared in her books. This book was authored by Bernadine Bailey.

Little Greta of Denmark was published by Grosset & Dunlap New York, Copyright 1939, By A. Flanagan Company.

The book is in really nice condition as the original book jacket is still in tact and has protected the book all these years. The cover has only slight edge rubbing and ruffing from being on a bookshelf. The book jacket has bright colors and edge wear with a few small tears. The back of the book jacket gives details of The Children of All Lands Stories. The pages have colored with age but the binding is still very strong. The only mark in the book is 1942 in ink on the title page. The front and back fly leaf include a wonderful red and beige map and illustrations. All 190 pages are included and attached to the binding. The original price sticker of 50 cents is in the back of the book.
