This is an excellent piece of Universal Pottery Cambridge Blue kitchen ware. It is not easy to find them with the original cork plug, especially in the blue color. It has the classic Universal Potteries cobalt blue ribbed bottom with a highly crazed and darkened neutral top. The handle is very comfortable. When you open the refrigerator, it would make you smile! Or, on the counter for other storage or just display.

The jug is in really nice vintage condition with no chips or cracks anywhere on the edges, which is uncommon for the age and usage of this piece. There is significant crazing on all the surfaces, but no compromise to the finish. There are a few small circular marks beneath the glazed surface on the bottom, I believe from manufacture. This piece is much nicer than comparative pieces I have seen at other sales. The glaze and paint is in wonderful condition with a soft hand feel to the surface and the original cork that seems to be in wonderful condition. I do not know if this would be food safe yet today.

The mark on the bottom is interesting. It is a circular design and reads clockwise as:
