Mid-Century "The Walnut Bowl" Pear Shaped Toothpick or Match Holder

Mid-Century "The Walnut Bowl" Pear Shaped Toothpick or Match Holder

$30.00

What a great bar storage item with Mid-Century flair, just the right addition to your game room or bar set up, and really hard to find in such nice condition!

The real walnut piece is segmented , with deliberate grain variations for each of the sections and shaped like a pear when the pieces are together. The lid has a solid brass ball on the top. When the top is lifted up, the inside has a small round storage section that I believe was intended for matchsticks or toothpicks? Not sure but those make sense.

The bottom has the original foil label marked The Walnut Bowl Real Walnut PO Box 14 Lebanon Missouri 65526. There are a few scuff marks on the lid potion and a few slight cracks on the base section. I think a bit of Old English polish would work wonders on these spots! The piece has a lovely hand feel and is quite substantial.

Info on The Walnut Bowl is as follows:

The Time Millersburg Exit 137 Comes Into View, The Walnut Bowl Factory Outlet Has Thrown More sales pitches than a used-car dealer. Name a kitchen utensil or a household item; chances are it’s here and it’s made of wood. The Lebanon company started out making barrel staves, and used the scraps to make a few knickknacks. Now the knickknacks, including all manner of walnut bowls, are the business.
