These clown plates have become very sought after and collectable and to find a set of two in such nice condition is quite rare. They are funky and fun. There is a theme to the clown, both have brightly colored baggy overalls, tufts of hair, large shoes and bird friends. One, in the yellow overalls, is serenading his 6 bird friends with his violin. The other, in green overalls is hoping to serve up his blue bird friend!

These plates were only ever used as display so no usage marks or scratches in the paint. There is slight rubbing of the black lines on the each of the plates just from time. Otherwise in great condition.

They are made of porcelain. Marked Spal Porcelanas (Porcelain) Portugal on the back of each. Great replacement pieces to add to a set or to start a new collection!

They are just so quirky and would work as well in a display on the mantel as they would as a decorative addition to the buffet table. I'm thinking they would be especially nice for the "kids" table at holiday dinners!
