Set of 2 Antique St Patrick's Day Post Cards/Ephemera

$15.00
Two Saint Patrick's Day themed post cards from the 1900's to add to your March decor. Every one needs a bit of Irish luck during the first quarter of the year!

- An idyllic country scene with rolling hills and a quaint farmstead, framed by an embossed shamrock shape. Taupe/gray background makes the image really stand out. This was likely from somewhere outside of the US, as the postage is indicated as Domestic Canada, Great Britian or Germany One Cent Foreign Two Cents. Addressed to Mrs. J.L. Peterson Ludington Michigan with the message, From your friend Eleanor Comstock. The corners are one side are scuffed and the back is darkened with age but the colors are still quite beautiful on the front. No dating but I would guess early 1900's. Dimensions: 3 1/2" x 5 1/2"

-Erin Go Braugh God Bless Old Ireland A hand drawn image of Blarney Castle is surrounded by a green border with gold shamrocks, the Irish harp symbol and the message is gold banners. Postmarked March 10 1910 and sent to Ralph M Young in Byron Center Michigan from LW. There St. Patrick was a gentleman. St Patrick's day in the morning and they kept the pig in the parlor and that was Irish too, eh? Everything all OK - will write soon. Portions of the image are raised up. Corners are scuffed and the back is darkened with age but the colors are still quite vibrant on the front. Postmarked with a One Cent US Postage Washington stamp. Dimensions: 5 1/2" x 3 1/2"
