German luster ware is so striking, I can't resist a bowl or plate when I see one. This plate is especially of my liking as it has a soft green and gray shimmer outer rim with golden filigree designs and two small handles. So unique!

The plate also has a raised decorative rim with a scalloped design. The center flower bouquet design is a combination of pastel shades with greenery. This is not a hand painted piece but what I believe to be transfer ware design. The rim of the plate has a superbly shiny glaze with iridescent properties which I think identifies it as luster ware. It has a small base that allows for easier lifting and passing of the plate.

This plate is in amazing condition considering its age. There are no chips or cracks or crazing on either side of the piece. There is some minor paint loss along the top edge of the rim. I could see using it as a serving plate for Easter or at a bridal shower or as a display piece on the counter top or open shelves in the kitchen.

It is marked on the back with Germany .
