Three Vintage Green, Gold, Red Plates

Three Vintage Green, Gold, Red Plates

$40.00
I love finding unique vintage plates and combining them to make sets that just sing! This set of three has a gold, green and pinkish red aesthetic and would be wonderful for the Thanksgiving or Christmas buffet. They look amazing displayed together and would compliment cream or gold china plates wonderfully, The three plates are as follows:

#1 - A beautiful hand painted plate with a design of large opened poppies in shades of pink and rose with green centers and light green and gray leaves. There is a thin gold rim line, and the background has splashes of rose and pink on the bottom edge of the plate. The plate is signed, Gotham Austria on the back with their logo.

The plate is in beautiful condition of the front painted surface, no noticeable paint loss. The gold edge paint has areas of paint loss. The back shows a mark like a hair line crack but no crack can be felt by the finger and it does not carry through to the front at all. Finish is still quite glossy.

#2 - Eggshell Nautilus Homer Laughlin: This plate was made by Homer Laughlin in their Priscilla pattern in the 1940's. Homer Laughlin was a premier kitchen china maker during the 1920's - 1960's. The Priscilla pattern depicts a rose bouquet in the center surrounded by a gold circle and a scattering of flowers around the edge with a final gold rim. It is a very yellowy cream color. It is marked with Eggshell Nautilus USA and the Homer Laughlin mark. This pattern is from the 1940's. The plate is in very nice vintage condition with a few slight scratches on the surface. The gold on the edge rim is faded in spots. No chips or cracks though.

8" diameter

#3 - 1920s Moustiers Terre De Fer R&A Salins green edged transferware plate. 'Terre de Fer' is a trade name for a fine earthenware ceramic, close to porcelain, which is mixed with feldspar and kaolin, to make it whiter and more resistant. It appears in France around 1770, is really spread in the era of ceramics, to reach its peak around 1900. I believe the name of the pattern of this plate is Moustiers and is is a dark green transferware border with daisy flowers and leaves and a wave like outer edge. The back has the stamp clearly marked. The plate is in nice vintage condition with a few grayish marks on the creamy off white center and one small surface chip in the border. The back has a spot of dark age markings as well.

Dimensions:
9 1/2" diameter

Sold as a mismatched (yet perfect together) set of three.
