Vintage Brentleigh Ware Black Vase with Hand Painted Roses

Vintage Brentleigh Ware Black Vase with Hand Painted Roses

$46.00
This is just so pretty. This beautiful, 1940s Brentleigh Ware earthenware vase is has a ribbed pattern with hand painted roses on both sides. It has an Art Deco shape with two small steps on each side of the classic shape. Marked on the bottom Brentleigh Ware Salford (I believe that is the pattern name) England with a small painted green T for the artists mark. The original gold foil sticker with Brentleigh ware and Made in England is on the top bear the lip as well.

This vase is in amazing vintage condition, minimal paint loss and shelf wear. No visible damage on the outside. There are quite a few marks on the inside where the black paint is missing - I wonder if something was affixed inside at one point.

If you are a collector of Brentleigh Ware I think this is a gorgeous piece with the added benefit of the original sticker. If you just like pretty things - this is for you as well! This piece also lends itself so well to the Halloween décor realm with the black background and orange accents. Imagine it with some black roses as part of your Halloween centerpiece!

Of interest - The Howard Pottery Co. ('Brentleigh Ware') was in operation from around 1925 to approximately the mid-1970s, producing earthenware from Norfolk Street in Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent, UK.
