The perfect vintage holiday soft cover pop-up book to read on Christmas Eve! In poetic form the beautifully illustrated story tells how Davey and his donkey Tim clean the stable of his father’s inn on the first Christmas Eve. There is a heartwarming surprise at the end of the story - Davey's work had helped get ready for the World's First Christmas Day!

The book has full color printed front and back covers and is spiral bound. The front cover show Davey, Tim and Baby Jesus in the manager. The back cover is a little board game, "Going to Egypt" to play.

This collectible book is in incredibly nice shape. There are a few things missing - on the back of the front cover is a basket on Tim the Donkey's back and it originally held a little feather toy which is no longer included. The book also came in a cardboard box with game pieces. Those are both missing.

The rest of the book is amazing. There are pop-up images on page 2 and 3 and 20 and 21 that are still completely in tact. The colors of the illustrations are really bright. The only writing is the gift message on the donkey's basket. The colors of the covers and the spiral binding are a bit aged.
