This is such a gorgeous Vista Alegre (VA) salad or dessert plate in the Olivia pattern. It has a background of creamy white porcelain with a basket weave pattern in 6 places around the scalloped edge. The Olivia pattern also includes a bouquet of teal blue flowers in the center and smaller sprigs interspersed with the basket weave on the edge. The outside rim is finished with a thick gold gilded edge. Made in Portugal. When I saw it, I envisioned it's to be displayed with early summer items in the mid-century bar, or as part of an Easter vignette, depending on your spring color scheme. It is very striking and would grace any spot it was displayed in.

This is really beautiful and in wonderful condition. There are no chips, cracks or crazing on the piece anywhere. No loss of the gold paint that I could identify either.

It is marked on the bottom Made in Portugal and VA Portugal with the mark that identifies it as 1840s - 1970s.
